Dealing with Poor Science Scores

Nothing beats actually seeing science concepts come to life with their own eyes.

Science is a subject more easily processed when experienced first-hand. While digital technology can wow our children with all sorts of cool-looking simulations, nothing beats actually seeing science concepts come to life with their own eyes.

Data from the National Center for Education Studies of the United States confirms as much. Students that rarely perform hands-on science experiments, it was revealed, scored poorer on their exams than those who do it almost every day.

And so, students who want to bring their scores up a notch need to do one simple thing: go outside! Away from the cozy confines of their computer, children will be challenged to explore and discover the world around them.

The life cycle of a native bird, for example, may be illustrated by a thorough examination of their natural habitat. Pollination may be observed by looking for birds, bees, and butterflies hovering over flowering plants. A day trip to a nearby park will enable children to mount such science exploration trips. Such a trip will not only be healthy for the children, it will also help teach them critical thinking and problem solving skills.

At AHEAD Tutorial & Review Center, students will be exposed to different types of science experiments that will enable them to score better in their exams.
