Just  HOW HARD IS IT TO GET INTO UP, ADMU, AND DLSU?

Good education will open more opportunities for you in terms of building a career. This is one of the advantages you can gain when you get into the top universities.

From a thousand universities around the world, there are four universities in the Philippines that are included in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings for the year 2019. These four universities are namely The University of the Philippines, the Ateneo de Manila University, the De La Salle University, and the University of Sto. Tomas. Let’s talk about the first three universities.

University of the Philippines (QS ranking: 384)

UP is known as the country’s premier university. It has the most National Centers of Excellence (COE’s) among higher education institutions in the country with 23 COE’s in all. In the UP College Admissions Test for Academic Year 2018 – 2019, nearly 80,000 hopefuls applied and took the test. Only around 14,000 students were accepted.

Ateneo de Manila University (QS ranking: 651-700)

Ateneo is known for getting outstanding students every year. With over 150 years of excellence under its belt, this Jesuit institute continues to be quite selective with its applicants as excellence in the spirit of Magis is expected from each and every one of them.

De La Salle University (QS ranking: 801-1000)

La Salle is known for being the first of the only two institutions to be granted the highest-level accreditation (Level IV) by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU). It boasts curricula that provide its students the opportunity to be exposed to the actual work setting through different practicum programs offered in all courses. It is also the center of excellence for 14 programs.

Out of the approximately 120,000 students who take the entrance exams of these top universities annually, only about 10 percent get in. Since UP is now tuition-free, we can expect a rise in the number of test-takers. In La Salle, graduating high school students under the La Sallian schools can directly enroll into DLSU. These mean that there will be limited slots in both UP and La Salle. From this, it can be assumed that this will lead to more students applying to Ateneo, which will result to less chances of getting into the university as well.

These are some of the reasons why in the Philippines, review centers are thriving; education is a priority for most parents and we are sure that they are willing to spend to make sure that their children get the best education they can provide.

A review can help you focus on the subjects and topics needed to be mastered. The right review center can make your admission to your dream school happen.
