The National Medical Admission Test 2017 is just around the corner. There is definitely pressure for all the takers to get a high score. While we cannot lessen the pressure you feel when taking one of the most important tests in your life, we listed some final tips that can better prepare you for the NMAT.

  1. Get a good night’s sleep.

Do not spend the night before the exam cramming or studying. Instead, get a good and long sleep. Not only will sleep help you relax, it will also improve brain activity. Several researchers conclude that sleep helps strengthen a person’s memories and problem solving skills.

  1. Come prepared.

There are a few things you should remember to do or bring when taking the NMAT: Bring an extra pencil or a sharpener, an ID, your application form and a watch to keep track of the time. Do go to the exam venue early and know your room assignment beforehand. Doing and bringing these things will make you more comfortable in taking the test.

  1. Do not skip breakfast.

Studies show that skipping a morning meal reduces a person’s ability to concentrate by 20-40%. Aside from that, protein-rich meals releases dopamine – a chemical compound that causes a person to have a good mood. So to make sure you are mentally, emotionally and physically ready for the NMAT, have a good breakfast!

  1. Drink plenty of water.

If you do not drink enough water to hydrate your brain, it will not be able to perform its normal functions including attention and memory which are crucial when taking a test. When your brain properly hydrated, you will be able to think faster and be more focused.

  1. Do not panic.

Keep in mind that you prepared for this test. Convince yourself that you are ready to keep yourself from panicking. When you panic, you have the tendency to rush in answering the exam. Avoid that. Make sure you take your time in reading the instructions and questions in the test. If you feel tensed, close your eyes and take a deep breath.

Good luck!
